PLEASE,
do not put me aside. I am coming as your real friend and you can rely on me not only in your prosperous times, but especially when worries or difficulties overshadow your bright days. I shall never leave you in distress. Please, trust me. Do not be suspicious because many people disappoint you. I shall never disappoint you. I long to be your friend and to give you my whole heart. Will you accept it? Please, never refuse real love when it comes to you, otherwise you would make your life very poor and your soul empty. Reserve for me a tiny little corner in your heart and I shall be happy with you.
Do not say that you do not know no yet. You will know me soon. And remember: call me whenever you are in need. If the whole world leaves you, I shall remain your faithful friend. Do you say that my talk is strange, that nobody ever spoke to you like that before? You see how much you have been missing. I am not a stranger. If you look at me closely and remember my voice, you will soon recognize that I am so near to you. I am, namely – YOUR NEW LIFE.
WHY NEW LIFE ?
I know that you long for a better life. Just recently you mentioned it again and you had in mind a certain figure in your Bank account. Some time ago, when you had only $100, you said that you needed $1000 to reach a ''better" life. You reached that sum. And what did you say? "Oh, I need $10,000 and then I shall really have a ‘better’ life.” You reached that goal also. You felt happy, but I heard you saying afterwards: “I must have $100,000 and then I shall definitely have a better life.”
I do not know if you will reach that goal, but suppose you do. Are you sure that your "better" life will not escape this time? I am afraid that you quench your thirst with salt water. The more you drink it, the more thirsty you are.
I do not mean to undermine your successful life effort. I wish only to tell you that you cannot find fulness of life merely in things which you·accumulate around yourself. You know your house, your land, your money, your work, you food and drink... do you also know YOUR LIFE? Or do you think that life and things are the same? They are not. Things are only a means of life, but not 1ife itself. What do you live for?
You also told me that a "better" life means to you not only more material wealth, but also a better life morally. You see so much wickedness, unkindness, bad behaviour these days, that you rightly said that people should be more moral, more sincere, more honest, more friendly, more cooperative, and so forth. I agree with you. But do you think that is all for which we should live and struggle? You said it is our Christian duty to live a better life. I agree again, but I ask: is it the main goal of Christian life?
There are a great many non-Christians who also emphasise that it is man's duty to be kinder, more honest, more moral. Muslims, Buddhists, pagans, and atheists who deny God, also say that we should live a better, more moral life. So what is the difference between you, a Christian, and they, non-Christians? If you see no higher goal of human life than they do, there would not be any difference.
To be "'better" does not mean automatically to be a Christian. Do you think that Jesus Christ was crucified only for a kinder, more moral, more honest life? If you think so, then I am afraid that you do not understand His Calvary. His Crucifixion does not mean that we should change from brainy men to brainier men, or from good to better men. To be a Christian, i.e. to follow Christ, means to be a NEW MAN. It is a change in a totally different direction .... a change from being creatures of God to being sons of God.
“I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God". That is the only way to become a real Christian. If you are satisfied with something less than this, you may “see the kingdom of man", but for that you need not be a Christian at all.
Do you ask what to do? Nicodemus asked Jesus Christ the same. Read His answer in John 3. St. Paul explained to Ephesians that "the new man is created in righteousness and true holiness” (4:24). Can you be righteous and holy "from yourself"? You cannot. Nobody con. We cannot create with our imperfection a condition of perfection. We can become with our human effort only a little better than bad. But it is not the Christian goal.
Jesus Christ did not advise you to follow an example of a “better man”. He says to you "FOLLOW ME" He is coming again to you and repeats His urgent call: “F0LL0W ME ".

IS FAITH INCOMPATIBLE WITH A MODERN MAN?
Many people think that to be a “modern, cultural and civilized man" means to give up Faith. We also hear sometimes that science and Faith are incompatible, that Faith is only for old-fashioned people, but not for open-minded men, etc. Do you agree with this?
If you are sceptical with regard to Faith then you are your own biggest enemy. Why? Because your scepticism prevents you from understanding yourself. I wonder if you know that you cannot live without Faith at all?
You actually know only your past, only those events which happened and are gone. You know nothing at all about your future. It is dark and mysterious. It may contain either good or bad tor you, and somewhere in its darkness you see also the end of your earthly life.
Why do you not fear to face steadily the unknown, dark minutes, days, years? Because you are so brave? No! Because in your soul there is something stronger than your fear. Whether you are aware of it or if it is only in your subconscious, it is there. This strong thing is your Faith. It is Faith in life.
You can face your unknown future, because you have faith in life. If you had not your Faith, you would be afraid to get up in the morning, to begin a new job, to work, to meet unknown people; in short, you could not do anything, because you would see and feel danger everywhere. You marry someone knowing nothing about their future behaviour towards you, you make friends with unknown people, you do this or that, because you have: Faith, Anything you touch, anything you do, anything you start requires Faith. Your whole life depends upon it. Do you know when a man commits suicide? When he loses his Faith in life. A man who possesses even a little bit of Faith, never takes his life.
Faith is the main driving and preserving force of your life. Faith gives you hope that everything will be alright and that bad will turn to good again. Faith is unconditionally connected with your spiritual life, just as your breath conditions the beating of your heart. The world’s greatest discoveries, before their realization, were first a matter of mens' Faith. Without that faith they could not even begin their research. Science and Faith, Life and Faith are unconditionally connected.
Did you give yourself your life? You did not. But you can destroy your life. Did you create the life-preserving force called Faith? You did not. It was given to you with your life. But you can also destroy your Faith. Once you start to doubt about your life, you are seeking a way to destroy yourself. Once you start to doubt about your Faith, you are opening your veins and allowing life to flow away.

So far, we have been speaking only about your “natural Faith”, which is the cradle of all your hopes. There is another Faith, which I would call “supernatural”, the cradle of certainty of life. It is not only Faith in "my" life, it is Faith in the Eternal, Universal Source of Life, from which all our individual lives spring out. We call this Source of Life: God. Do you believe in your 1ife? How could you not believe in its Source? Do you believe that a river runs not too far from your home? How could you not believe in its spring, which is its Beginning? Can you imagine the difference in might and power between "natural” and “supernatura1" Faith – between your single life and All Life?
If you have faith in your life, you can do wonderful things and attain great success. If you have faith in All Life, in its Almighty Eternal Source, in God : you can do not only the same as with your natural faith, but you can influence others and do things which seem almost impossible. Do you remember what the Son of God says to you about Faith? If you do not remember, read St. Matthew 17:20.
Do you say that it is impossible? What is impossible? What Jesus Christ says? Do you not believe Him? I do. Just because it is impossible to you does not mean that His words are not true. Do you know why it is impossible to you? Because you think that your faith in God is big enough, but probably from His point of view it is smaller than a grain of mustard seed.
Please, do not follow blind men, who deny faith in God and therefore do not understand their own lives. Return to the Faith whole-heartedly, now! There is your strength and new life.

DO NOT FEAR ! Do not worry! It does not matter what difficulties arise, you cannot win anything with fear and worry, but you can lose everything by it. Do you think this isn’t true? Can you tell me one case which you won by fear? Can you tell me when worry and anxiety offered to you happiness and joy?
I believe you have experienced, at least once, terrible fear or anxiety. Do you remember that you lost your strength, your body was motionless, you could not work or speak or sleep? You felt that your whole body was poisoned. Really this was because fear, worry and anxiety are negative forces and they poison your mind and body. They are forces of death, not of life. You can easily die in fear, but you can hardly 1ive in it.
Just when you or your dearest ones are in difficulty, you need strength and a. clear mind. When danger comes, you urgently need peace, because only a calm mind is able to act wisely. If you act with disturbed mind, you multiply your danger and difficulties. "Fear not, stand firm'' (Ex.14:13). “Fear not; for I am with you” (Is. 41:10). Do you know who speaks to you? YOUR GOD, THROUGH YOUR NEW LIFE.

CALLING YOUNG CANADA - At the Beginning of a New School Year
My dear young friend, I wish you great success during your new school year. Everything is new in you,with you: you start with new strength; new books full of new knowledge are in your new school bag; new hopes fill your heart, new ideas and decisions occupy your mind; new adventures and experiences are before you; new teachers will share your life for the whole year.
Are you really at the beginning of your New Life? Do you know what I mean? I mean not only new experiences and new knowledge, but really your new personality. It means a general revision of your previous “self”: revision of your heart, sensitivity, intellectual thinking, your judgements and evaluation of the good and the evil, which means as a result a deeper understanding of your relationship to your Creator and to everything and everybody created by Him.
Please, tell me, do you value yourself very little or cheaply, or do you realize your real human value? I tell you why I ask: if you think you have no value, you will choose friends, books, entertainment which are also of no value. If you realize that the most valuable thing which you have to look after is your life, then you will supply your life also with the most valuable things: with best friends, best books, best entertainment; you would not make yourself cheap, because you would feel ashamed to look in the mirror and see the face of a person who is worthless.
I am sure you wish to pass your school year with honours. Do you wish also to pass your life-year with honours? I believe you do. May I help you to succeed with my friendly advice?
Fill your heart and mind with the greatest Perfection, greatest Wisdom, greatest Goodness, and greatest Purity which is within your reach. Where to find it? Let God Himself speak to your heart and mind. Then you will possess something so extraordinarily beautiful and valuable that you will be a key-personality among your associates. Please, desire to be rnore than an average! Be a leader! A spiritual, moral leader! Your school needs you, Canada needs you! Do you hear the voice of your homeland? Canada calls upon you: “Lead me! Lead me to my greatness, glory, to my great future! Give me the Eternal Spirit of Everlasting life, which I need for my prosperity. Please, please, lead me!" Hear her voice every day, every minute! Lead young Canada in the Name of God and for God – then, only then she will be great and you also. Please, with your new school year, start also your new life!
